The Ontario Workplace Inclusion Program (OWIP) provides employment support for persons with disabilities. Job seekers work directly with OWIP staff members and have access to expert training and accommodation support.

Free of charge, our experienced staff are available to discuss all of your hiring and employment needs and provide qualified candidates for open positions.

OWIP supports job seekers with disabilities enhance their essential skills to prepare for wage subsidy, work experience, and ultimately employment.

  • An OWIP client has faced barriers but is motivated to find work. OWIP clients can complete personalized pre-employment sessions, workshops, and work with a job developer.
  • An OWIP client is interested in enhancing his or her essential skills to access employment.
  • Employers work with OWIP to increase diversity and tap into a pool of motivated and qualified employees.

The Ontario Workplace Inclusion Program (OWIP) is a program of the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW). This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund. Services are free and available in French upon request.

CHS is a not-for-profit agency and the leading provider of services, products, and information that remove barriers to communication, advance hearing health, and promote equity for people who are culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing.  The individuals accessing the CHS Employment Services (ES) program often face huge communication, attitudinal and cultural barriers and therefore benefit from specialized supports and advocacy with employers, training institutions and other agencies to ensure culturally appropriate and accessible services.

Clients of the ES program can expect to receive an action plan tailored to their individual employment needs, whether that be resume creation and critiquing, cover letters, interview skills and preparation, labour market information, career planning, Second Career/retraining assistance as well as referrals and partnerships for additional employment supports as necessary in the Durham community. CHS provides specific expertise and resources to accommodate hearing loss and are knowledgeable in the assessment and recommendation of appropriate accommodations in workplace settings. About Service Provider

Ontario Shores Vocational Rehabilitation and Adult Education Services is a recovery-oriented community employment program operated by Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores).

Vocational Rehabilitation Services, provide individual and group recovery oriented services for both inpatients and outpatients who are on a path to mainstream employment. Services include individual assessment, skills development, education upgrading, career counselling, resume writing and interview preparation, job search and job maintenance through collaborative community partnerships.
